Site update and rec links request

It was a busy fic weekend, with the dreaded Valentine's Day on Saturday and then Lupercalia on Sunday.

Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered is finally done and up on the site - James's Valentine's love spell goes wrong and wackiness ensues. Or you can read it here, if you want to leave a comment.

Falling Is Like This is my contribution to the Lupin Lovefest on Lupercalia (Sunday, for those of you not on top of your Roman bacchanals) (not up on the site yet. maybe tonight after Gilmore Girls.).

I could whine and bitch about any number of things, but meh, even that gets old after a while.

I hope to get writing today. We'll see.

In other news, if you've got a recs LJ that I've not got on here, and you recommend fic in the following fandoms: Buffy, Angel, Harry Potter, XMM, LotR, Alias, Smallville, West Wing, SportsNight, Homicide, Firefly or Good Omens, could you drop me a note with the LJ name so I can add you?

Pass it on, please.

I'd like a good, comprehensive list of recs LJs.

If you've got a recs site not on LJ, well, drop that link, too.

*g*

Thanks!

I am a golden god

Sometimes you just write a sentence you just love to death.

I have written such a sentence.

Well, to be honest, I wrote it a while ago, but I haven't looked at the damn story in about a week, so I forgot.

They look at him, mouths swollen and glistening, eyes wild, like young gods, Dionysus twinned, hungry with need and focused on him.

Okay, it's not grammatically the best sentence ever, but guh

From the J/S/R fic.

and how amazing is it that after years, I see J/S/R and I automatically think "James/Sirius/Remus," instead of "Jean/Scott/Rogue?"

Though I still can't abbreviate James/Lily as J/L or L/J. Some things remain.

Queen C gets her due

I don't know what's going on with the site migration (my webhost is migrating all the sites it hosts to new servers blah blah blah), but I was able to upload both Mine Eyes Dazzle and The King and the Queen of the Prom.

I just hope my webmail's available today. Yesterday was very unpleasant without it.

More on titles (not, I should mention, moron titles)

Add two more titles to my future titles list:

From Blind to Blue and ...gah, I lost the other one. It had something to do with being lost inside a dream, or dreaming too long, or something. Arrgh.

Also, the pr0n I have the idea for, well, I have the sex in my head, it's just a question of what sitch to put it in (I'm thinking post-Azkaban, first time Sirius tops, except, you know, even when he tops, he bottoms, because Remus is always, always the top. Sigh. My alpha wolf and his control issues.), and if the story cooperates, I will be calling it Linger.

Oh! I did write a post-"You're Welcome" ficlet called Mine Eyes Dazzle dealing with the, you know, thing that happened in that episode that was very upsetting to old school Buffy and Angel fans.

I also wrote a post-"You're Welcome" crossover, which *had* to be done, though it was utterly self-indulgent, and I probably won't post it to any lists anywhere, except maybe Unfit: The King and the Queen of the Prom, because you so know they'd get along. In the words of The Beautiful South, they are each other. *g*

I need to finish BBB by Saturday, as I want to post it for V-day, or possibly, more fittingly, Sunday (i.e., Lupercalia). I just have to make a goddamned decision about it. Does the end suit? Or if I need to keep going, how far? Until they're back in the room and Sirius confesses he was planning to confess the next day (i.e., Lupercalia)? Or the next day at breakfast and then in McGonagall's class?

I don't want to do that last option, as the Funny has run out, but I could maybe do the middle one.

Gah.

I hate this.

I also want to pull out Razor's Edge, do enough editing to say I attempted to fix the problem, and then post the damned thing. I've had it since the summer. It's done. It should be done. I hate not having it done. Same with Inheritances, which is even more difficult, because I'm tempted to go back to the very first, minimally detailed draft, and post that as the final, all beta suggestions notwithstanding.

I know that makes me cranky and a BOFQ and no better than crappy FF.net writers, but sometimes man, the story is just the story and it doesn't want to be expanded beyond its original 400 words. And sometimes when I finsih something, it's *finished* in my head, and I can't go back and start writing it again, because I'm gone from there.

Gone From There. Another title I'd like to use some day.

I dunno. I like to think I'm amenable to suggestions and changes and that I listen to my betas a good 75-80% of the time, but sometimes, I'm just gonna say no, this is the story, and I'm not changing it, mainly because otherwise, it ends up six months to a year later (almost a year on Inheritances), and I've done nothing, because on some deep level, I think the story is done and I can't get back into the mindset to work on it again.

Ooh, they're playing In Your Eyes. A song I adore. Also, a great source for titles. *g*

I'm all updatey-like

Updated the site last night with three HP stories (well, two stories and one edited to fix things drabble).

Everest. Because Ginny is there. (aka, vic tries her hand at the girlslash)

Daddy Dear. Harry's got a theory. It could be Moony. (aka, vic skewers a stupidass theory about James Potter)

Under the Table, in which Remus learns an important lesson from an old teacher.

Oh, and as for the banging night before last?

Mean Super was putting out the garbage. At 3am. What the fuck is that?

*shakes head*

Whatever.

The painting is "Boreas" by John William Waterhouse. Again, not a muse, but I like her. She suits the color scheme.

The quote is from Sir Philip Sidney.
