The Five Ws

Or, all about me in five easy questions.

Who?

Voluptuous Italian beauty seeks...

Oops, wrong website. *g*

I'm Victoria P. Various noms de guerre include Shoe, Moss and Little Flower. AKA the Cordelia of atbvs and also Queen of the Xanderistas.

I'm 31, I live in NYC and work for Big Evol MegaCorporation ("BEMC"). After spending ten years in non-profit and being on a career track as a meeting planner, I opted out. I took five months off and basically did nothing but hang out with my nieces and nephews and write fanfic. So now I'm an Admin instead of management, and I'm happy as a lark, even if I do work for BEMC. *g*

So, yeah, the fanfic thing: I write mostly X-Men movieverse Wolverine/Rogue shipper fic. If you don't know what fanfic is, um, I suppose I should have found a link for you to go check out, but I'm lazy and I didn't. It's fiction using already-existing characters in their already-existing universe.

I also write some Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel the Series fanfic, but not much, and the occasional Clark/Lex story based on Smallville.

What?

This diary is the place for me to fling various thoughts at a place without worrying about list constraints or being offtopic. It's also a place for people to keep up with what I'm doing.

But mostly it's for me to hear myself talk. Type. Whatever.

It's mostly about fannish things, writing, etc. though some personal stuff does leak through.

I also like to post snippets of fic I'm working on, because somehow, the errors just *jump* out at me here, whereas in Word, or even in email to my beta readers (editors, for you fanfic newbies), I sometimes skim right over them, seeing what I expect to see, rather than what I've actually typed.

And sometimes I rant. Well, I rant a lot, actually, but I'm a bitter, angry, hostile and cynical person. I even took a quiz in the New York Times that told me so. *g* So don't take any of it personally, unless I call you out by name. It's probably not directed at you.

When?

Now. Then. Later.

Where?

You're here, aren't you? I mean, if any of us are actually *here*. Wherever *here* actually is...

Diaryland

Why?

The ultimate question.

My answer: Why not?

No, seriously, it seemed like fun. I had a page like this on my website, but got tired of having to do the html etc., so when Jenn mentioned her diary at Diaryland, I was *all* over it. *g*

Love to hear myself talk, remember?

Oh, you mean, "Why *fanfic*?"

That's a harder question to answer.

I think because I've always had trouble finishing any original stories I've begun, yet I've finished over 100 fanfics.

Also, because the Logan/Rogue relationship spoke to me so strongly, on such a visceral level, that even 18 months later, it still has the power to move me, in its various permutations. Characters I create myself have not, as of yet, interested me as much as these two do. So, fanfic.

I think that covers mostly everything. My likes and dislikes are pretty much right on the pages of the diary, so I'm not going to list them here. Suffice it to say, I have very strong opinions on a lot of things, and I'm not afraid to share.

Well, this was a lot less painful than I expected.

Cheers.

The painting is "Boreas" by John William Waterhouse. Again, not a muse, but I like her. She suits the color scheme.

The quote is from Sir Philip Sidney.
